The reboot of the previous film “Godzilla” which is based on a Japanese
film released in 1998, while
it is now going to be remade in 3D version in 2014 and
is directed by Gareth Edwards. The castings of
this film are Aaron Taylor Johnson acts Lieutenant Ford, Elizabeth Olsen acts Ford’s
girl friend and Bryan Cranston acts Joe Brody. Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros.
Pictures are the co-production of this film. The compendium of this film is an
epic rebirth of Toho’s iconic, namely Godzilla which pits the world’s most famous monster against
malevolent creatures bolstered by humanity’s scientific egoism.
The
first thing of this film is the design of the Godzilla creature which is
discussed by Edwards. He explained that the design groups reviewed all
incarnations of Godzilla’s design for inspiration. They try to make a view to imagine the Godzilla as real creature. They think that it was real
and seemed to have seen it from Toho before, so they
are trying to remember it and draw it perfectly and make it so much realistic
in this film. In this film, Godzilla is 60 meters high, while it is only 2.2 meters high
in real world. In order
to reproduce the destruction of the cityscapes in exquisite details in
miniature and make the miniature look like realistic as well, these
requirements like good lighting, good attention of the director, better angle,
excellent type and perfect balance of the lights for filming are also needed to
be focus on. In producing the film like this one, a faster camera speed with
much more intense lighting than normal one is the main thing required of making
special effects. All elements are not needed to present in the original
shooting place such as radioactive flames which is spewed from Godzilla.
The
designers and the animators of the film prepare picture continuity for
each cut of
making the special effects. Picture continuity may be marked as a pictorial
script to show what appears in some places and the position of
the camera as well.
The filmmakers use this to decide the filming method. All the shootings almost
take place inside the studio so that the filmmakers can create a variety of
artificial environments which are not affected by natural conditions
like light changes, wind, rain etc. In this film, Godzilla will be
played by an actor wearing a monster suit which is quite heavy so that it is
impossible to create the scenery that the monster moves
quickly. In order to
achieve
these scenes,
the filmmakers use the slower speed of camera which can create an illusion that
Godzilla is moving quickly. Previously, combining the parts was done by hand
and also using a machine which is called an optical footage. But in this film
CGI technology will make every movement, every step of the film so realistic
and so much adventure for viewers.
In this new animated
era, in order to make this kind of film, Digital synthesis is
the standard which is used to involve a scanner to generate digital data from the
film and then use a computer to create desired image. Film recorder which is
converted the digital data into film. Digital synthesis increases the number of
elements dramatically which can be processed and the precision with that they
can be rendered and can bring once-impossible technical feats. It was difficult
to reproduce the movements into a miniature set or an actor in a monster suit.
But now through the CGI technology it has become easier to create these scenes.
Computer based production is mainly time- consuming and in the world of
Japanese film, only a short time passes between a film’s completion. Now in
Hollywood, computer graphics reign supreme, miniatures which were used in
previous science fiction film successfully as it will do the same in this film.
Warner
Bros. Pictures production always tries to make something different and deliver
better than before. According to this rule,
they will introduce a new invention to the viewers through this film. All the
film lovers will enjoy it and the leading render firms will give them a big
hand.
Usually an excellent movie like 3D/sci-fi and CG
movies can’t be apart from the contributions made by the production company
behind. In the meantime, we all know that each production company has huge
render farms behind with top-level hardware specs. That is to say, the success
of these movies can’t be apart from the help of render farm. It is for sure
that the skill of artists is important for CG movie production, while render
farm is much more important than it. Artists’ creation can’t be realized
without render farm. What have mentioned above is true for Fox Renderfarm with good render farm software. We are
not a production company, yet production companies all over the world can
benefit from the render service we offer. It is our meaning to try our best to
make contributions to the development of CGI.
